Quantum physics is a fascinating science that challenges our perceptual intuition and pushes the boundaries of our understanding of the world, of mind, consciousness, and the function of our body, and particularly of brain activity.
Art is a manifestation of human creativity that encompasses all human activities and expressions, capable of evoking emotions, transmitting ideas, reflecting culture, society and reflecting on the world.
Quantum physics and art may seem like very different disciplines, however, art and science, emerged at the same time, during the evolution of the mind-brain-consciousness and have been forever linked, forming a powerful tool to help man represent and understand complex and abstract concepts, which one of them, in isolation, could not glimpse.
Quantum physics in the art of Miguel Peraza
Miguel Peraza’s sculpture is a fascinating example of how art and science, especially quantum physics, can converge, in “Genesis 4D”, cryptosculpture, Peraza, fuses art, technology and quantum physics. This sculpture is inspired by the theory of many worlds or states of quantum physics, which postulates the existence of parallel universes, superposition and entanglement of the particle wave and the collapse of these to be seen by the brain eye in a single state.
“Genesis 4D” uses advanced blockchain technologies and digital art to create a unique experience. The sculpture not only unfolds in physical space, but also in mental and digital space, representing the intersection between quantum physics, artistic interpretation, and brain function.
Quantum Mental Travel
Watching the work invites viewers on a quantum mental journey and exploring parallel worlds, stimulating regions of the brain that are automatically activated (default mode network or DMN). This default neural network includes areas such as the medial prefrontal cortex, the precuneus, and the cingulate gyrus.
Default neural network (DMN) is very important in our daily lives and in conditions of well-being for the following reasons:
a). It is the brain area where creative ideas and intuitive problem solving are generated.
b). Participates in the homeostasis of physical and mental health, avoiding excessive self-reflection and negative thoughts.
c).-It modulates cognitive and memory functions automatically, preventing diseases such as Alzheimer’s.
Art, medicine and health
From this perspective, it has been proposed that art made with virtual reality and augmented reality technologies, such as “Genesis 4D”, the work of the Sculptor Miguel Peraza, have the ability to create immersive experiences, which activate the neural network in a quantum way so that they could be used in medicine for therapies, education and training, thus improving people’s quality of life.
